Western Australia’s premier farming field days, the Dowerin Machinery Field Days will be held on August 27 and 28 this year.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the annual event will feature its usual array of farming machinery displays and rural lifestyle items for sale, plus several additions to commemorate its significant milestone.
These include a new entry statement currently under construction, historic memobilia and photo displays, a vintage tractor display, commerative anniversary photobooks and CDs for sale, and performances by WA Golden Guitar winner Chelsea Basham.
Awards to acknowledge innovation and best farming practices will be handed out on the final day, such as “Best New Release- Self Propelled Machinery”, “Best Sustainable Farm Practices Award” and “Most Outstanding Exhibitor”.
Organisers anticipate more than 650 exhibitors to sign up to display their wares this year, an increase of 10 per cent from last year.
Visitors can also look forward to a number of demonstrations, including farm machinery demonstrations, sheep dog trials, cooking demonstrations etc.
