EVENT: Murrumbateman field days 2014

The Canberra region’s premier hobby farming and lifestyle field days will be held on October 18 and 19 this year.

The event has come a long way since establishment in 1979, attracting about 30 exhibitors in 1980 to about 400 exhibitors in recent years.

It is held every year on the third weekend of October in Murrumbateman, on the Barton Highway 20mins from Canberra.

Now in its 36th year, visitors can expect to see all the latest small/hobby farming machinery and services as well as local food and wine to see and taste.

This year’s highlights include cooking demonstrations by Better Homes and Gardens resident chef Ed ‘Fast Ed’ Halmagyi, exhilarating helicopter joy rides, children’s farmyard, an antique machinery display, tractor pull and more; making this event perfect for a family day out.

The event aims to give back to the Murrumbateman community with proceeds going to schools, community groups and sporting associations in the region.
