Carrier Transicold unveils new ultra-efficient flagship Vector HE trailer refrigeration unit at 2019 Brisbane Truck Show
Carrier Transicold Australia is launching its next-generation temperature-controlled trailer system – the Vector HE 19 (High Efficiency) – at the 2019 Brisbane Truck Show.
The internal architecture of the system has been significantly redeveloped and, combined with its new ultra-modern design, improving fuel consumption by up to 30 per cent* (based on ATP test on partial load CEN 16440-1), reducing unit weight by 10 per cent and achieving lower noise levels.
Operators will benefit from reduced running costs and a lower total cost of ownership, while also minimising environmental impact.

The new Vector HE 19 unit includes:
● Redesigned upper airflow management, creating much more efficient cooling
● Single, ultra-efficient evaporator fan
● New, Stage V compliant diesel engine with electronic engine control
● The proven performance of a hermetic compressor and economiser
● The efficiency of a micro-channel heat exchanger condenser.

This new high-efficiency unit has been built around Carrier Transicold’s E-Drive all-electric technology, which works by removing the mechanical transmissions found in conventional belt-driven equipment and engine power into electricity via a generator, which drives the refrigeration system.
One of the key benefits is a sustaining refrigerant containment for a projected average annual leak rate of only three per cent.
The Vector HE 19 system combines the E-Drive technology with an improved multi-speed engine design, bringing fuel savings of up to 30 per cent when compared to the existing Vector 1950 – the equivalent of saving 5.4 tons of CO2 annually.
It is also 82 kilograms lighter and operates at 3 dB (A) lower. There is also an available engineless option for emissions reductions.
Carrier Transicold’s new flagship trailer system has been designed with the operator in mind and improves on the current generation product in every area, even down to its new APX control system using Controller Area Network (CAN) technology, which allows multi-speed engine control and management of all actuators and sensors to optimise refrigerant flow and temperature control.
The Vector HE 19 unit will be available in up to three different compartments configurations and provides high and constant levels of heating to all compartments, thanks to the E-Drive technology that significantly improves temperature regulation for multi-temperature operation.
