Western Australia’s premier agricultural show, the Dowerin Machinery Field Days has much to celebrate this year as the event approaches its half a century mark.
Held from August 27 to 28 this year, the event attracted a record number of 670 exhibitors this year, in addition to a waiting list of companies who expressed interest in displaying their wares and services at the show.
Dowerin Machinery Field Days chairman Ashley Jones says response, from exhibitors and visitors alike, have been very positive.
“All the exhibitors are extremely happy with how everything has gone; I haven’t heard one bad comment. It’s all credit to the exhibitors; they’ve done a great job.”
Jones says the field days has become a tradition of sorts for residents of Dowerin and its surroundings, with generations after generations getting involved with the field days one way or another.
“It’s just a great way to bring the community together.”
To mark the significant milestone, special programs and displays such as vintage machinery parades, historical displays, and performances by Golden Guitar winner Chelsea Basham were held.
Farming innovation was also a major theme this year, with a good handful of exhibitors launching new products at the show.
This includes AML Equipment with its range of Faresin mixers and telehandlers; MultiOne Australia with its line of compact mini-loaders and New Holland with its award-winning T8.420 Auto Command tractor.
