Case IH expands popular Magnum range

Australian farmers can now look forward to Case IH’s Magnum tractor technology in mid-size frames, with the addition of three new models to the current line-up.

The new Magnum 200, 220 and 240 tractors will offer horsepower starting from 197hp and features the brand’s signature innovation and productivity with patented SCR technology.

According to Case IH, Australia is the second country after the United States to receive the new models.

Case IH High Horsepower Tractors Product Manager Pete McCann says the new models share all the same traits as their larger brothers, except size.

“The only difference is these tractors are more suited to mid-sized broadacre operations,” he says.

While they are the smallest in the range, Case IH says they are no lightweights in the field.

“These are heavy spray tractors and they’re ideally suited to mid-size tillage and farming applications, but they are versatile and adaptable for a wide range of uses,” McCann says.

The new Magnums come equipped with Case IH’s FPT Industrial patented Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology which reduces exhaust emissions and optimises fuel efficiency.

As it uses fewer moving parts, the tractors’ engines can last longer and thus require less routine maintenance.

Despite the smaller frame size, the Surveyor Cab is the same size as on the large Magnum models, while adjustable suspension provides the ideal operator environment.

The Magnum 240 comes with Case IH’s Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) as standard. CVT involves a four-gear range system that allows drivers to change speeds dramatically without having to manually shift. The 220 and 200 have the option of Powershift transmission or CVT.
