Branson adds mid-range model to utility tractor line-up

Korean ag-equipment manufacturer Branson has added a new 40hp compact tractor to its current line-up which the company says offers “all round performance” for various on-farm applications.

The Branson brand is sold in Australia by Queensland based distributor Midway Sales.

According to Midway Sales director Scott Spring-Brown, the new Branson F42R sits in the middle of the brand’s current line-up and offers the best value for money in its class.

“A 40hp compact tractor is a popular size for all round performance with many of our customers and when they drive the Branson they can feel the difference,” he says.

It features a true flat deck for easy access to the high back and wide operator’s seat which provides optimum comfort.

The Branson F42R is a four wheel drive machine and is equipped with a dual power direction, hydrostatic steering cylinder.

“They do not use a steering drag link, thereby enabling tight turns and low steering effort,” Spring-Brown says.

“Elimination of the drag link provides uniform front tyre wear and much easier steering effort in front loader applications.”

A front end loader with a 4-in-bucket, self-levelling functionality and lifting capacity of 330kg comes standard with the Branson F42R which allows farmers to carry out a wide range of tasks including blading, levelling, grabbing and scooping.

Wet disc brakes, which are usually found in top of the line tractors, also come standard on all Branson tractors to ensure safe and powerful braking.

The F42R is powered by a Branson built eco-friendly engine which offers a quiet operation and low fuel consumption.

“The long stroke design produces maximum torque at a lower speed and will pull you through tough spots that many other engines won’t,” Spring-Brown says.

A 12 forward and reverse speed transmission is available on the Branson F42R, which is controlled via a dash mounted shuttle shift.

“The travel speed gears are fully synchronised, there is no ‘gear grinding’ when shifting,” Spring-Brown explains.

“The first gear is 1.3km/h which is perfect for slow speed PTO operations and the highest gear provides a transport speed of 26 km/h.”

A dual pump hydraulic design provides 18 litres/minute to the steering system and 33.5 litres/minute to the loader or other hydraulic functions. Dual hydraulic remotes enable the operator to hook up any hydraulic implements they require.

An independent two speed PTO comes standard on Branson’s F series tractors. “A nice feature is the 540 ‘E’ PTO which lets the engine run 25 per cent slower,” Spring-Brown adds.

“This enables quieter, more fuel efficient operation in light operating conditions such as mowing and spraying. In heavy duty conditions, simply move the selector lever to standard mode and increase the engine revs for more power.

“It really helps you work PTO implements efficiently.”

The Category I hitch on the Branson F42R has a lift capacity of 1500kg at the ball end, with telescoping, adjustable hitch stabilisers featured as standard equipment.

“Every detail has been considered right down to the diesel tank filter located at readily accessible height and a strong protection bar mounted on the front of the tractor to protect the bonnet and engine,” Spring-Brown says.

The Branson F42R with 4-in-1 front loader retails for $28,990. Find out more information on Midway Sales’ website.
