New tiller answer to sticky situations

Local tillage equipment manufacturer K-Line Agriculture has launched its new Speedtiller Powerflex trash management unit in response to clogging issues in wet and sticky soil.

The machine, officially launched on September 4 is the latest entrant in the 2015 Henty Machine of the Year award which will be presented on the first day of the Henty Machinery Field Days.

After extensive research and testing, K-Line has developed the Speedtiller Powerflex as a direct response to rollers clogging in wet sticky soils, and sinking in sandy plain soil types.

K-Line says the machine has been designed mainly to suit the North American market where issues of rollers clogging in wet soils are prevalent. The company adds one unit has been in operation in North America already showing great results.

A main feature of the Powerflex is the adjustable wing pressure which allows the operator to transfer the weight of the centre of the machine to the wings to provide an even digging pressure across the total width.

This allows the operator to adjust depending on the soil type they are working in.

The forward placement of the wheels gives operators the ability to take weight off the rollers when necessary.

The wheel placement also allows harrows to be used in place of rollers to suit a wider range of applications.

In addition, the front wheels enable superior on-the-go depth control which is especially useful in soft and sandy soils.

The rollers; as well as the frame of the machine can be floated to reduce sticking in wet soil conditions and ensure a level seedbed is achieved.

K-Line has introduced wider spacings between front and rear discs on the Powerflex to allow for increased trash flow and reduce the plugging effect of wet, sticky soil.

The machine has also been designed to fold down to a narrow width for easy transportation.

The Speedtiller Powerflex will be sold in Australia through K-Line’s reseller network and will be represented by Norwood Farm Machinery at the Henty Machinery Field Days, scheduled to take place from September 22 to 24.
