Grass machinery expert Pöttinger has added a new model to its renowned Novacat mower range-the 352 V with vertical transport position ideal for narrow field entrances and work in tight corners.
The new model features a width of 3.52m and comes without a conditioner.
A central feature of the 352 V is the unique hydraulic lower linkage arm that enables easy mounting without having to adjust the tractor linkage drop arms.
Using the hydraulic “Hitch and Mow” lower linkage arm, the headstock can be brought into the correct horizontal position at any time, independently of the geometry of the tractor linkage.
In addition, the system optimises weight alleviation as well as providing excellent ground clearance (50cm on the inside) for headland turns and transport on the road.
During transport, the mower is folded to the side and raised to an angle of 115 degrees, allowing for safe transportation. The headstock can be lowered to ensure a transport height of 4m.
The 352 V carries all features the Novacat range is known for, including the tried and tested cutter bar with quick-change blade as standard.
Pöttinger says the cutterbar’s tapered disc surfaces, optimised counter-chop zone and a generous overlap of blade paths ensure perfect crop flow and quality cutting while protecting the sward.
An integrated mechanical collision protection system allows the mower to move by 15 degrees to the rear when it comes in contact with obstructions in the field.
A hydraulic collision safety device is also available as an option.
Ease of maintenance is also a main benefit of the machine, according to Pöttinger. The PTO shafts now have an extended service interval of 150 houra and the safety guards fold well clear to provide optimum access to the cutter bar for quick blade changes.
An optional hydraulic version of the folding side guard is also available.
