Polaris says the General UTV combines the hard-working attributes of its best-selling Ranger range with the sporty quality of its RZR series.

The new model has carried over the Ranger’s 272kg rated dump box, a towing rating of 680kg via a standard 2-inch receiver as well as electronic power steering.

It also features an engine braking system (EBS) and all-wheel drive (AWD) for optimal traction and control on all kinds of terrain.

On the other hand, the General has borrowed the RZR’s suspension travel of 311m front and 335mm at the rear.

It sits high on independent double wishbones at each corner for an impressive 305mm ground clearance; and features anti-sway bars at the front and rear as well as a full body underside skidplate.

Polaris says all these features allow riders to travel faster with greater comfort over challenging grounds.

Two versions of the General are expected to arrive on Australian shores by late-March – the Premium at a Manufacturer’s List Price (MLP) of $24,995 and the Deluxe at $27,495.

Both versions offer a 4500-pound winch as standard, sport low profile front bumper plus 14-inch alloy wheels with tough 8-ply Commander tyres.

The Deluxe model features Fox Performance Series podium shocks on the front and rear plus a sport roof, convex mirror and a General MTX Premium Soundbar with Bluetooth connection to keep riders entertained.

A Base model will be joining the line-up later in the year, price TBA.

Polaris adds customers can customise their General with a wide range of accessories including a choice of full and partial cabins, additional lighting, a heater and gun scabbards.
