JCB launches new Agri Pro telehandlers

JCB has introduced the new 531-70 and 541-70 Agri Pro Loadalls, featuring Australia’s first 2-in-1 dual technology transmission – DualTech VT.

The new DualTech featured in the telehandlers combines Hydrostatic transmission and Powershift drive to bring the best of both into one machine.

The 531-70 and 541-70 can lift 3100kg and 4100kg respectively up to a height of 7m. Both new models are powered by tier 4 engines producing 145hp and 516Nm.

JCB Construction Equipment Australia (JCB CEA) national telehandler product manager Greg Sealey says the high-speed efficiency and towing ability of a JCB Powershift transmission, combined with the low-speed control advantages of a hydrostatic drive “not only provide operators with the gearboxes in one transmission but also improve cycle times across a wide range of farming applications”.

“These latest models come with precise control for operators, high-tractive effort, smooth forward reverse shuttle and high-speed performance,” he says. “They offer a 25 per cent productivity gain when handling and 16 per cent when towing on the road, compared to other models on the market.

“The 531-70 and 541-70 boast three different modes for operator convenience, allowing the machine to alter between Flexi Mode, Eco Mode and Power Mode, each tailored to the environment, ranging from high-speed road travel or manoeuvring in tight spaces.”

To further improve comfort, JCB says DualTech provides smoother automatic shifts which, coupled with the new Loadalls’ hydraulic power brakes, increase driver control over the machine and increases safety.

The 531-70 and 541-70 Agri Pro Loadalls also feature a traction management switch on the control panel, which allows operators to easily swap between 2WD and 4WD modes.

“The 2WD mode increases traction when using on road towing and the 4WD mode offers operators equally matched front and rear axles that reduce tyre wear when working,” Sealey says.

JCB says the Agri Pro Loadalls are also fitted with the JCB LiveLink, which gives operators real-time information on fleet management, maintenance, run hours, and security straight to a computer, tablet or mobile.
