Henty Machinery Field Days 2018

The three-day Henty Machinery Field Days was jammed packed with more than 800 exhibitors and $120 million worth of machinery and technology on show in regional New South Wales

The Henty Innovation Award 2018 went to Justin Dunn, creator of ‘The Shepard’ automated sheep feeder, which minimises feed wastage in the current drought conditions.

The Henty Machine of the Year Award 2018 went to the Schinckel Hayrakes Next F Series V-Rake. The South-Australian designed hay rake impressed judges with its simplicity, ease of operation and features such as self-opening wings to reduce heavy lifting by the operator.

The Berrima Engineering Multi-Ted hay tedder won the Greater Hume Shire Award for the best new Australian designed and built agricultural machine, with company director Martin Morona of Deniliquin receiving the accolade. The Multi-Ted improves hay and silage quality by reducing drying time and bleaching.

John Deere anniversary celebrated its 100th anniversary with a record number of green-blooded JD fans gathered at Henty to mark the occasion and a 2018 John Deere 9RX dwarfing the original 1918 great grandfather ‘Waterloo Boy’ tractor on display.

The machinery demonstrations were a hit with the JCB Hydradig 110W wheeled excavator, Brookfield SD150S-TR Super Drill, John Deere R4045 self-propelled sprayer, and the New Holland T7.315 tractor in action.
