Canstar has named ANZ its Agribusiness Bank of the Year for the second year in a row.
The award is based on Canstar’s assessment of the business finance and deposit account products on offer across the sector, and also includes factors such as information and education services, specialised products and services, relationship managers and online banking functionality.
“ANZ has once again proven to be offering a strong agribusiness solution for Aussie farmers,” Canstar research and ratings group manager Mitchell Watson says.
“The Bank has retained the award for agribusiness based on the strength of its product offering and the breadth of its services. What stands out most is ANZ’s continued support of the agribusiness industry through various community initiatives.”
These initiatives include the ANZ Seeds of Renewal program, which has provided more than $4.3 million in community grants to 779 projects to help build vibrant, sustainable rural communities.
“We’re proud to support regional Australia and the agriculture sector and this award recognises our team’s dedication to helping our customers as well as advocating for regional social and economic transition,” ANZ regional business banking general manager Isaac Rankin says.
“Many of our team members live in regional Australia – with a strong affinity for the land and farming – so have an innate passion for understanding the challenges and, importantly, the opportunities that lie ahead for Australian producers.”
ANZ agribusiness head Mark Bennett says the award is a reminder of the important role a bank can play in helping to build strong local economies.
“Our aim is to help customers achieve continued growth in a cyclical and, at times, a challenging sector by sharing our insights and connecting them with local and international opportunities,” he says.
“And, with agriculture’s resurgence well underway, it’s clear the sector will continue to play an important role in Australia’s prosperity.”
