It is the tractor showdown of the year, when two of Australia and New Zealand‘s leading farm machinery magazines teed up six big brands and four of the best experts to uncover the cream of the crop in the world of tractors.
The 2015 Top Tractor Shootout, presented to you by Commonwealth Bank is hosted by New Farm Machinery magazine and New Zealand sister title Farm Trader.
This year, the focus was on ‘value for money‘ , with the price cap specifically set at $140,000. The tractors selected also needed to feature six-cylinder engines.
Over three days at the South Island Field Days in Kirwee, New Zealand, the tractors were tested with several implements including an Alpego Super Cracker and a Falc 5m power harrow; as well as a dynamometer to measure the machines’ true power and capabilities.
