The Massey Ferguson MF5609 tractor has won the 2016 Top Tractor Shootout by the slimmest of margins, with only 0.01 points separating it from the second-placed Deutz Fahr 5105.4G.
The main aspects of the Massey Ferguson MF5609 tractor that were applauded by our judges were the fast that it had a lot of grunt for a tractor with a three-cylinder engine, whereas all the other five tractors in the competition featured four-cylinder engines.
Our judges also liked the de-clutch button on the back of the factory loader joystick, with gear changes and a shuttle button on it, which made loading the hay and shifting the bark easier.
The 2016 Top Tractor Shootout field consisted of a Case IH Farmall 95C, Deutz 5015.4G, Massey Ferguson MF5609, New Holland TT4.75, John Deere JD6105M and the Kubota M100GX.
