Machinery manufacturer Checchi and Magli has been rebranded its name to CAM
Founded 42 years ago by Messrs Checchi and Magli, the Italian pronunciation of the name can be challenging for English-speaking folk which has led to the new abbreviation of the name.
CAM and its seedling transplanter systems have been popular with Australian farmers for over 30 years starting with its TEX planter.
The company’s modern seedling planter system is a modular, flexible system for single row right through to wide 12 row configurations (with different mechanisms to suit different plants and plant methods).
Inlon managing director and CAM Australian distributor Jim Jardin says the new CAM planters for planting through mulch are becoming popular.
“Plastic mulch machinery is a fast-growing segment with increasing enquiries and sales over recent years,” Jardin says.
“As well as the CAM Plastic Layer machine, we now have a CAM Plastic Retriever machine and a CAM Seed Planter for planting through plastic,” he adds. “With a 3-point linkage kit, it’s possible to lay plastic and plant in one pass – another growing segment is equipment for small scale organic potato and garlic growers which CAM has developed a range of machines for these growers.”
The Plastic Mulch Layer machines also have the capacity to lay irrigation hose, reducing the costs of buying a second machine. You can run the plastic mulch layer machine and a Checchi & Magli transplanting machine in unison.
