The three-day event is held opposite the Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory at Allansford, about 12 km east of Warrnambool on the Great Ocean Road.

"This year has been declared by the United Nations as ‘The Year of Family Farming'," says Sungold Field Days chairman Tony Rae.

"It looks as if dairy farming returns and, indeed, all other farming returns, are on the increase."

Organisers expect more than 10,000 people to walk through the gates over the three days.
