Attracting over 100 new exhibitors this year, the Wimmera Machinery Field Days 2014 was bigger and better than before.
Wimmera Machinery Field Days Manager Murray Wilson says the field days have solid cropping seasons ahead to thank for the great response.
“If they (the farmers) know that they can look forward to a really good season from a growing point of view, they’ll be looking for the new machinery and equipment that they need to sow in a few months’ time to get ready for next year’s harvest,” he says.
He adds over 20 new machinery launched since last year have been showcased at the field days.
Among them is GPS Ag’s Scout Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) which won the Ag Innovation Award; the Cropstalker ultra narrow row shielded sprayer; Case IH’s new Steiger Rowtrac and Magnum CVT tractors; and Stoll’s S8 8000-litre sprayer.
