EVENT: Sheepvention 2014

Held every year at the Hamilton Showgrounds, this year's Sheepvention will run from August 4 and 5, 2014.

Sheepvention is the Hamilton Pastoral and Agricultural Society’s biggest farming event with over 25, 000 visitors attending last year’s show in regional Victoria.

As the name usggests, the event has a huge focus on livestock and sheep, with activities such as wool shearing, sheep shows, ram sales and wool fashion parade.

The Sheep Show in particular will showcase up to 1000 sheeps including Heritage and Merino breeds.

Fashion lovers can look forward to the Australian Young Designer Wool Awards fashion show in which wool plays a key role in their designs.

The Pen of 5 ram sale is one of the most successful events of Sheepvention which  enables vendors to display and promote their rams. The committee believes this year’s sale will be as successful or even better than past eyars’ due to the strength of the sheep market at present.

Those looking to buy local produce and creations can find them at Sheepvention as well with the huge amount of businesses already signed up to sell their goods at the event.

Visitors can expect to see and buy woollen products such as baby apparel, manchester, home wares, and clothing while foodies will be delighted with the amount of gourmet produce such as spices, oils, cakes, cheeses and wines that will be on offer.
