EVENT: Agfest field days 2015

Tassie’s leading agricultural and farming event will be held over three days from May 7 to 9.

The event, held annually in the small village of Carrick in Tasmania’s north highlights the state’s rich agricultural scene and showcases a wide array of local food and wine.

In addition, the event also caters to farmers looking to shop for the latest machinery and technology on the market; as well as animal lovers with its equine and livestock exhibits.

Last year, the event attracted 59,000 visitors through the gates despite slightly wet and chilly conditions.

As Tasmania is well known for its dairy industry, a special dairy feature will be set up this year at the end of Main Street that will have the best dairy products the state has to offer on display.

Other show highlights include a heritage machinery display; an ag art wear fashion designing competition and show; sheep dog trials and 4WD demos.
