Goldacres celebrate 40 years

It’s an exciting time for Victorian sprayer manufacturer Goldacres as it turns 40 years old this year

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the company invited customers to its Mitchell Park production facility just outside of Ballarat for the Goldacres Expo18, a recognition of the company’s history and success.

I was fortunate enough to attend the event and couldn’t help but feel a huge sense of pride when touring the immaculately clean and intricate production facility, especially considering the current state of vehicle manufacturing in Australia.

Goldacres began in the town of St Arnaud in 1978, producing trailing sprayers. Over time it has moulded to the requirements of the industry, now producing a diverse range of products including spreaders, three-point linkage sprayers, chemical handling and its flagship self-propelled range.

The Expo also showcased some blasts from the past like its sixth-ever trailing sprayer dating back to 1978, as well as the company’s first ever self-propelled Crop Cruiser from 1998.

“We have over 80 products on display here over the next two days,” Goldacres’ sales and marketing operations manager Stephen Richards says.

More than 500 people attended the two-day event which featured ride and drives, factory tours, supplier displays and demonstrations.

What rolls off the end of the Goldacres production line is a world-class sprayer pieced together by an Australian family-owned company, in an Australian town, by local hardworking, skilled workers – it’s a special process and one I was proud to witness.

Happy 40th birthday, Goldacres.
