Sydney Royal Easter Show CANCELLED

Event organisers write:

Due to increased public concern, to protect the health of stakeholders and visitors, and in response to the Prime Minister and COAG's direction that any organised mass gathering over 500 people should be cancelled, the 2020 Sydney Royal Easter Show is cancelled.

"Cancelling the Show will cost the Royal Agricultural Society tens of millions of dollars, and as a not-for-profit association, we will be working with the NSW Government to soften the financial hit to the RAS and to our stakeholders," RAS chief executive officer Brock Gilmour says.

"The RAS survived the 1919 Spanish Flu pandemic, the Great Depression, World War Two, and we will survive coronavirus and the Show will be as big, bold and exciting as ever in 2021," Mr Gilmour said.

Kapunda Farm 4x4 Outdoor Expo CANCELLED

Event organisers write on its Facebook page:

"It is with regret that due to the current pandemic, the safety of all, and the Federal Government directive that all events with over 500 people be closed, we must comply and cancel the Kapunda Farm 4x4 Outdoor Expo 2020.

"Our sincere apologies to the many thousands who wished to attend, our great sponsors, and especially the 300+ exhibitor teams who have worked so hard in preparation for this event.

"From the very disappointed team at Kapunda Farm 4x4 Outdoor Expo."

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and hope to see everyone at our next Farm Fair on 9th and 10th April 2021.

East Gippsland Field Days CANCELLED - new event April 16-17, 2021

Event organisers write

"It's with a very heavy heart that the East Gippsland Field Days Committee has had to cancel the 2020 event due to Government restrictions surrounding COVID-19.

"We understand this decision will bring much angst and despair to many of our exhibitors who rely on field days, markets and fairs to trade. It has not been an easy decision, but at the end of the day it has been taken out of our hands.

"Please take care and we hope to see you all in 2021 or possibly sooner as we may look at running a separate event in November. We shall keep you all posted on this. Our 2021 dates will be April 16 and 17."

Annual Camden Show CANCELLED

Event organisers write on its Facebook Page

Our members, volunteers, exhibitors, competitors and community are of utmost importance to us and it is with great sadness that we must cancel the 134th Annual Camden Show due to be held on the 27th & 28th March 2020.

Due to the current climate of the virus, it was felt that we could not guarantee a postponed date would be an option.

We thank everyone for your patience, understanding and ongoing support. We will be in contact with our stake holders in due course. We are looking forward to bringing back a bigger and better Show in 2021 - March 19-20 2021.

"The Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania has cancelled Agfest 2020 – the first time in the event’s 37-year history – in the best interests of the community’s health and safety.

"After much careful deliberation weighing up the latest advice from health officials and the Tasmanian and Australian Government regarding containment measures for COVID-19 and the staging of public events, Rural Youth and the Agfest Committee have unanimously agreed that this year’s event will not proceed.

"We are a resilient bunch of young people and we will be back bigger and better than ever from May 6-8 in 2021," he said.

Northern Australia Food Futures Conference POSTPONED

In an email to those interested in attending, Organisers write:

"With just 45 days to go until the 2020 Northern Australia Food Futures Conference, and advice and restrictions around public events subject to change and tighten, the NT Farmers Association and Ord Co have been closely monitoring the situation and will be having a board meeting on Tuesday 17 March (next week) to confirm a proposed new date for the Conference.

"We understand that many of our delegates, sponsors and exhibitors are impacted by travel bans and restrictions that are out of your control.

"As such, the board will also be reviewing the current terms and conditions and the cancellation policy, and reissuing new advice as soon as possible to ensure a fair outcome for all.

"Please be assured that we are committed to working with you on a case by case basis and that we greatly value your support of the conference, NT Farmers, Ord Co and our industry."

Riverina Field Days, Griffith DECISION PENDING

In a statement on the event website, organisers say:

"Following the announcement by the Australian Government to restrict gatherings of 500 people or more, we will continue to respond to COVID-19 global pandemic and will take all advice given and follow any laws in the best interest of public health and safety.

"As the situation is moving so quickly and circumstances continue to change, we will be speaking to all our key stakeholders this coming week to review our options around a possible postponement.

"Health and Safety will always be first priority, however we don’t want to rush into any decisions straight away as the situation is constantly evolving and the Riverina Field Days is 2 months away. The uncertainty surrounding the time frame of the gathering restrictions is what is making the decision very difficult to navigate.

"Please allow us these coming weeks to make an informed decision."

Norco Primex, Casino RESCHEDULED to August 6-8

In a statement, Primex director Bruce Wright says the change in date of this year’s event follows the introduction of the Public Health (COVID-19 Public Events) Order 2020 by the NSW Government which prohibits the running of events of 500 people or more - until after June 14, 2020.

"As these circumstances have been evolving, Primex has been in contact with the Association of Agricultural Field Days of Australia, the Richmond Valley Council and a number of exhibitors over the past 10 days to further monitor and consider the best options," he says.

"Exhibitors who have been contacted as part of this consultation process have been very supportive of the decision to change the date."

Casino Beef Week POSTPONED

Beef Week adresses the public via email:

"I, Frank McKey, the President wish to inform the community that the 2020 Casino Beef Week held in May is postponed to later in the year.

This is due to the Public Health Order (Covid-19 Public Events) in place till 14 June 2020, provided by Brad Hazzard MP, Minister for Health.

The Casino Beef Week Committee is saddened to make this decision, and we will work towards delivering our icon festival, possibly in early September which is dependant on the Australian Government advice."

We will continue to monitor the Coronavirus advice from government and health authorities over the ensuring months - and keep you informed.
