May 9, 2021 marks 75 years since Norm Bartlett set up business as a commercial trailer builder in Caulfield, Victoria. Since its inception in 1946, Bartlett has come a long way to become leaders in the design and production of ADR 62-compliant towbars, couplings and trailer safety chain systems.

The early years saw Bartlett developing a reputation as a quality trailer manufacturer to agriculture and road transport.

This experience provided the crucial understanding of vehicle dynamics and the towing task, laying the foundations that underpin the modern range of Bartlett products and innovations.

During 2021, Bartlett will shine a light on many different aspects of the Bartlett business and brand, including product pedigree and heritage.

The 75th anniversary will also look to the future, exploring how Bartlett continues to shape the industry with products and advice that address some of the most critical issues in transport, whether that be Chain of Responsibility, regulations, safety or developing better, stronger and more efficient towing solutions.

“Today, we are still a proudly family-run business and we want to celebrate the past, present and future of our company, together with all those who have worked with us or been a Bartlett customer during this time,” Bartlett managing director Allan Bartlett says.

Representing the third generation of Bartletts in the business, Allan is committed to continuing the company’s legacy of innovation, with a strong focus on the brand’s flagship range of towbars and allied towing solutions.

“Our integrated towing solutions are unique and industry leading, bringing safety and compliance to the forefront, so that truck dealers, equipment suppliers, body builders and vehicle outfitters can be assured that they are meeting their legal obligations,” he says.
