Norco Primex Field Day was forced to postpone last year as the country battled the COVID-19 pandemic, but, the expo returned for 2021

The Norco Primex Field Day 2021 recap

The well-known Norco Primex Field Day was forced to postpone last year as the country battled the COVID-19 pandemic, but, the expo returned for 2021’s iteration with event organisers determined to make up for lost time.

The expo, now considered one of the country’s leading primary industries events, drew a crowd of thousands across its three days in Casino with the hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest in sustainable farming as well as the newest farming machinery and equipment on the market.

Anthony Wingard was there to check out some of the highlights:

TGB 2021 Blade 600 SE ATV

This year has seen the return of TGB ATVs to the Australian market after an absence that spans back to 2010, but now, the Taiwanese built vehicles are back and are distributed through the Lismore Tractor and Machinery Centre.

Among the offerings is the Blade 600 SE, a tough, reliable ATV with more horsepower (42.1 hp), built to withstand the rigours of regular farm work.

Where the 600 SE differentiates is through its electronic power steering – a tri-mode speed-sensitive setting that can assist riders to ensure the most comfortable ride. Riders can select between no assist, minimum and maximum by toggling the digital display.

All TGB ATVs sold in Australia will offer a compliant Occupant Protection Device (OPD) as an option and will be sold as standard equipment as of October 2021.

New Holland T5 90S EC

New Holland’s T5 range all employ the new semi-power shift Electro Command (EC) Transmission, a 16 forward and 16 reverse gear option capable of delivering high power to the engine to cope with a range of demanding operating conditions.

The electronic draft control system comes standard across all T5 range tractors and means operators can lift as much a 5,400kg with the machine’s hydraulics while the engine in the T5 90S will produce a maximum of 88hp (65 kW).

Aesthetically, New Holland’s small-mid range tractor offering has also been given a facelift with what they call a modern, aggressive design.

Valtra G Series tractor

Fresh off gracing the cover of last month’s edition of Farms & Farm Machinery, the Valtra G Series tractor made an emphatic showing at Primex – one of the first units to enter the country.

Remarkably easy to operate, the G Series is the first tractor in the 100-145hp range to offer SmartTouch controls and precision farming capabilities behind the power of a six-speed powershift gearbox.
