Henty Machinery Field Day confirms 2022 dates

The next Henty Machinery Field Days will take place in September after a planned March event failed to appeal to exhibitors.

The Henty Machinery Field Days Board regrets to announce the 2020 event will not proceed this year due to COVID-19.

Dates have been confirmed for the Henty Machinery Field Day in 2022, with organisers scheduling the event for September 20-22 next year.

The next Henty Machinery Field Days will take place in September after a planned March event failed to appeal to exhibitors.

The event, located in the southern New South Wales, has been cancelled in the previous two years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and its longstanding ramifications.

Initially, organisers were investigating the viability for the event to be held in March next year, however it was confirmed only one event would take place in 2022 following consultations with exhibitors.

HMFD chief executive Belinda Anderson says the option to potentially shift the event to March was not viable in the eyes of the exhibitors, who often travel interstate to attend the field day.

“After surveying the exhibitors booked for the 2021 field days, it was clear a replication of the field days in March followed by our annual event in September was not the way forward,” Anderson says.

“There were still many exhibitors keen on an event, but the nature of their business has the HMFD management looking at a different style of event on March 12-13 2022.

“As this new event is still in the development phase with a few more logistics to be locked in, no further details are available at this stage.”

The 2021 iteration was initially cancelled back in August, mere weeks out from the event, following recommendations from NSW Health.

Over 50 per cent of exhibitors had been booked for interstate and with travel restrictions in place throughout much of the state, any chance of holding the event was curbed.

The Henty Machinery Field Day is one of Australia’s largest mixed farming an agribusiness events, attracting more than 60,000 visitors each year.

Prior to the pandemic, the estimated economic value of the event exceeded $92 million.
