EvokeAG event to return in 2023

AgriFutures Australia will hold its evokeAg agrifood technology event next year after a two-year hiatus

The agrifood tech event organised by AgriFutures Australia will return in 2023, with Adelaide set to host the two-day event.

The event, evokeAG, will be hosted on February 21–22 next year and heralds the return of the event following pandemic-induced cancellations in 2021 and 2022.

Among the action, over 110 speakers and start-ups from across the world will discuss food sustainability, supply chain demands, and other issues geared at improving capacity and profitability of agricultural businesses in Australia.

The event will also bring together farmers, innovators, investors, government bodies and scientists to help solve the issues faced by the agricultural industry.

AgriFutures Australia managing director John Harvey hopes the return will provide a boost to the industry.

“The disruptive impact of the pandemic has highlighted serious shortfalls in our food security systems,” Harvey says.

“There is an increasing sense of urgency around how we engage in global conversations, mitigate risk to our supply chain and challenge the conventions of what we grow, how we grow it and what we eat.

“Balance this with an extremely productive Australian agricultural landscape including big yields, and all-time high prices, the evokeAG 2023 event brings together a collision of opportunities and challenges with the best local and global minds to solve some of these issues.

“In 2020, we had $4 billion of capital in the room. In 2023, we’ll be welcoming international delegates back to the Asia Pacific region and attracting significant local and global capacity to match, if not, exceed the 2020 benchmark to drive investment in agrifood tech innovation.

“And, importantly, we’re also focused on making sure farmers are in the room to shape the conversation, help direct investment and connect with stratus to see the opportunities for agritech to solve on-farm problems.”

Previously, evokeAG had sold out in 2019 and 2020 prior to the pandemic. Further event details including speakers, start-up and investor programs, networking opportunities and sideline activities will be announced shortly.

Tickets are expected to go on sale soon, in March 2022.
