evokeAG 2026 heads to Victoria

Melbourne has been announced as the host city for next year’s evokeAG event

The annual evokeAG – described as “Asia Pacific’s premier agrifood innovation event” – will take place in Melbourne next year.

AgriFutures Australia announced the Victorian capital will host evokeAG on February 17-18, 2026, with a strong turnout of delegates anticipated.

This year’s event in Brisbane attracted over than 2,000 delegates from more than 25 countries, in addition to 134 speakers and more than 50 startups.

Delegates will gather “for two days of bold conversations and future-shaping ideas”, organisers say, with the aim of encouraging bold ideas, showcasing world-leading technologies and providing opportunities for collaboration.

“evokeAG delivers exceptional value for startups at every stage – offering a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and testing market appetite,” evokeAG Startup alumni and Gaia Project general manager Adrian Persi says.

“[Victoria] is also the food bowl of Australia and the heart of horticulture, which is especially relevant to our work.

“Hosting evokeAG in Melbourne offers a direct connection to the growers we aim to serve as we commercialise from 2025 – it’s a valuable opportunity to understand on-the ground challenges and share innovation.”

The hosting announcement has also been welcomed by Victorian agriculture minister Ros Spence, who believes bringing the industry’s leading minds together will lead to significant benefits for the state.

“Research and innovation are central to the success of Victoria’s $20.2 billion agriculture sector, which is underpinned by farmers and a broader industry that embraces new technology,” she says.

“We are proud to support the return of this landmark event to Melbourne and to invest in the growth and innovation of Australian agriculture.”

Next year will be the third time evokeAG has been held in Melbourne, following the first two events in 2019 and 2020.

After a two year pause due to Covid-19, the past three events have taken place in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
