Over 400,000 acres might seem a tad unmanageable, but we reckon there are a few people out there who could handle it.

A first glance at Dairy Creek’s homestead details would give the impression it’s a fairly modest property – three bedrooms, two bathrooms and garage space for two cars.

That impression might remain if, for some reason, you don’t check the area of the land … over 407,000 acres, 165,000 hectares or 1650 square kilometres.

Dairy Creek Station is located about 80km east of Gascoyne Junction in WA’s Shire of Upper Gascoyne and is so large that, if you have very keen eyes, its area can be seen from space.

As well as currently being the largest property available on farmbuy.com by a huge margin, Dairy Creek is home to around 1350 cattle – a mix of Brahman, Shorthorn, Santa, and Drought-Master with Charolais bulls.

The main homestead is the third to be built on the property, with the first being very old and ruined and the second requiring renovations to the walls and roof.

On top of those, there is a self-contained overseer’s headquarters.

According to the agent’s description, "All the accommodation is serviced by a 24-hour 10kVA solar power system with 60 long-life batteries and an auto diesel Perkins generator back up.

The property also boasts a large Telstra tower which provides internet access and satellite TV.

The significantly sized property features two airstrips — one near the homestead for light aircraft and a Royal Flying Doctor Service-approved strip a little further away.

There are two cattle yards near each other; one is 3km away from the main homestead while another is further to the west.

Another set of yards is located further away, relying on portable panels to remain functional.

Solar, petrol pump, and windmill-powered watering points are scattered across 34 locations throughout Dairy Creek, with new poly tanks and concrete troughs.
