Warragul-based VC Traders-Warragul Equipment Hire has purchased two new Silvan FC evaporative coolers for the upcoming summer.

“We currently have a staff of 10 with our workshop housed in an older style enclosed brick building which is certainly not the ideal workplace on hot summer days,” VC Traders general manager Dean Addison says.
Addison says he decided to install them during the cooler months after an impressive demonstration of the Silvan FC A/C units.
“So I thought during the quieter months I would invest in two units sufficient to cover the floor area and layout of the workshop.”
Silvan Australia’s merchandise manager Michael Frost says that the Silvan FC Series of evaporative air conditioners are the ideal cooling solutions for shearing sheds, farm machinery sheds or workshops, as well as retail areas, outdoor events, marquees, or patios.
The Silvan FC400’s ideal cooling area is between 30 to 50 square metres with a maximum airflow of 9,000m3 per hour, while the higher capacity FC 440 is recommended for a floor area of 70 to 100 square metres as its maximum airflow is 12,000m3 per hour.
Water consumption is in the range of 10 to 20 litres per hour.
The FC series also includes a three-speed adjustable fan with a remote control, and each unit is housed in a heavy-duty poly construction cabinet fitted with four swivel wheels.
“Every summer we experience a rush for these coolers as soon as the weather warms up so the sensible approach is to have one in place ahead of the season” Frost says.
The Recommended Retail Price of the FC400 unit is $799 including GST, while the larger FC 440 retails at $1,149 inc. GST.
