Equipment focus: JCB 531-70 C telehandler

A Sydney equipment hire group has expanded its fleet with the addition of a JCB 531-70 C telehandler

GoodService has been in business for over 10 years and specialises in wet and dry hire of telehandlers and off-road forklifts.

Owner and founder of GoodService Chadd Dotta says JCB equipment has been part of his business from the start.

"I bought my first JCB telehandler second-hand and from that first purchase my business evolved," Dotta says.

"JCB is a big part of my brand. A lot of clients, when they dry hire, wouldn’t want to sit in anything else because of the comfort and size of JCB."

GoodService’s new JCB 531-70 C is a compact construction spec telehandler powered by a 63kW Tier III JCB diesel. The 531-70 C is the smallest of JCB’s full-size telehandlers and has been engineered for work in cramped urban spaces.

The telehandler has a large, spacious cabin with a fully adjustable steering column. JCB says the cab has excellent ventilation and reduced noise levels inside.

The 531-70 C’s boom has been designed with limited joints and stress points on the nose and a one-piece closing plate for extra strength. The boom is also positioned low on the chassis to give the operator ‘over-the-shoulder’ visibility.

JCB says the 531-70 C is suited to construction sites of any size due to the machine’s three selectable steering modes – two-wheel steer for high-speed road travel, four-wheel steer for working in confined spaces and crab steering for easier movement near walls and buildings.
