Making sure its lime and fertiliser spreaders are reliable and easy to use has been key to Bredal’s manufacturing process in its more than 50 years of operation.

But the reliability farmers need today is not limited to being ready to work – it’s about being able to operate on the same terms in a variety of different conditions, whether they be natural or man-made.

Bredal’s new XE spinner attachment uses a belt delivery system and fold-down wings to put the spreader’s dry spinners up to 6m apart.

Ben Nichols, the company’s Australian distributor, says the XE spinner helps Bredal push its spreading width even further, even in windy conditions or while using fertiliser of poor quality.

“The basic principle is we can add 6m to any conventional spread width, but we actually get better results than that,” he says.

“That is due to [the fact that] we now have advanced drop point controls systems available for the XE models and a new spinner disc design, which are now 200m wider in diameter, allowing us to throw the product further.

“We can operate with adverse conditions, within reason, and still maintain an acceptable level of accuracy with 36m,” he says.

Precision application

Nichols says the section control systems on Bredal’s F series linkage mounted spreaders and trailed machines are divided into 12 sections across the nominated spread width, with functions controlled automatically by its ISOBus computer, fitted as standard.

“For high input farming areas along with irrigation fields and centre pivots the section control spreader systems allow for a high return on funds invested by minimising product wastage,” he says.

“Generally speaking we would expect customers to have a 10 per cent over-application of fertiliser products in any field… with section control we average about 1.25 per cent section overlap.”

The F Series’ automated drop point control along with a split belt enables individual control of the rate and spread pattern of the spinner system – putting the system in a league of its own.

The dynamic weighing ability of the ISOBus computer system allows for automatic rate calibration changes while operating – making sure the targeted application rate is maintained when applying products with slight variations in density.

Bredal uses a reverse spinner direction to spread product out wide at high capacity – ensuring the highest spread pattern accuracy and consistency across multiple products and growing regions.

This base spreader system is the same on all models available, ranging from 1T linkage-mounted machines through to 30T trailed machines, including truck mount options and  linkage-mounted models.

Many other products are available and custom manufacturing can be accommodated – with machines for the construction industry, roadside maintenance, earthmoving and horticulture routinely manufactured to customer requirements.

Chances are if you have a belt spreader application, Bredal will have the solution.
