In 2001 this family-run business set up a sister company in Colac Agricultural Company (Colac Ag), which is the importing arm of the business.

Colac Ag sources specialised products and equipment for specific Australian agricultural needs.

The company has always been expanding its range of hay and silage machinery and this year is no different.

Colac Ag has aligned itself with specialist European manufacturers to bring some of the best products in the market to Australian shores.

Elho V-Twin 950 rake

Currently, the  business is importing specialised machinery from Europe from brands such as Elho, Samasz, Feraboli, Zocon, Joskin, Schuitemaker, Bonino and Baertschi, among others.

The Elho V-Twin 950 Super is one of the most popular Elho products imported by Colac Ag. Manufactured in Finland, it is the largest model in Elho’s range of heavy duty rakes. The V-Twin 950S is gentle on the crop and limits the amount of foreign material in the windrow owing to its effective raking action.

Colac Ag is also seeing interest in Elho’s range of bale wrappers and rock pickers in the Aussie market.

Colac Ag also offers Polish brand Samasz’s range of agricultural machinery. Manufactured in a brand new facility in Poland, their range includes mowers, rakes, tedders, tree saws and even snow ploughs.

Samasz’s heavy duty mowers come in many different formations, including a triple set, which can mow up to 9.4 metres in one sweep. The mowers include roller or flail conditioner and transporter conveyor options that can bring the grass into one windrow.

Now re-branded under the Maschio name, the Feraboli range of balers has been in the Australian market for a long time. These cutting-edge technology balers are designed for maximum flexibility and reliability to suit all farming conditions.

The Maschio range of round balers are delicate on hay and perfect on wet forage and suited to even difficult products such as stalks and straw.

One of the most popular in this range of balers is the Extreme 365, which has a variable chamber with a bale size varying from 50–165cm. It has four endless belts with a 220cm maximum pickup width. The model comes with or without knives.

Functions such as bale size, shape, density and amount are adjustable from the cabin control.

Colac Ag also offers Maschio’s other range of balers, including fixed chamber, chains or rollers. Maschio balers are compact and heavy and offer outstanding durability, high working capacity and perfectly-formed bale, Colac Ag says.

Schuitemaker Feedo 40L-7 feedout wagon

Another popular brand in Colac Ag’s range of hay and silage products is Schuitemaker. The Dutch-made wagons have a good reputation of effective work in Australian conditions. The

Feedo wagons, used for feeding out the silage, have a maximum capacity of 37 cubic metres.

These machines are durable for the long haul thanks to the robust construction of their full steel boxes. The mixing beaters – a standard in the Schuitemaker Feedo range – at the front offer a smoother flow of products to the cattle.

Schuitemaker’s Rapide range includes loader wagons that come in various sizes and with different beaters to get the silage to the best possible standard from the paddock to
the cattle.

Colac Ag says it excels in finding the right type of specialised products for general farmer and contractor needs. To find your nearest Colac Ag dealer, visit www.colacag.com.au.
