Product Focus: CRF Supa Bin

Able to switch between seed, fertiliser and urea without cross-contamination, Clear Ridge Fabrications’ (CRF) Supa Bin is winning plaudits from a number of satisfied customers.

The CRF Supa Bin handles grain and fertilise without cross-contamination

The award winning CRF Supa Bin is becoming a ‘must have’ item for many Australian farmers.

It is well known as a multi-purpose, totally self-contained grain and fertiliser handling bin with fully remote controlled operation and is rapidly gaining popularity Australia-wide.

Efficient, safe and contamination-free handling of multiple products makes it the ideal choice for filling air-seeders at seeding time, but the Supa Bin has multiple other uses. Units fitted with the optional SupaTube tubulator can be used to fill silo bags, fertiliser spreaders and feeders as well as transferring grain and fertiliser into field bins and other trucks.

Blending different products is as simple as pressing a button on the remote control unit to activate the variable compartment door actuators on any compartment, which allows you to create any blend desired.

This is a popular feature for grain farmers with different fertiliser requirements and also for stock farmers wishing to blend different products into self-feeders.

Regardless of whether the unit is fitted with a tubulator, the high capacity centre rear discharge belt ensures the Supa Bin is an efficient and user-friendly means of transferring grain back to on-farm storage solution at harvest time and/or delivery of grain directly into bulk grain handling systems.

The centre delivery belt has a discharge capacity of up to four tonnes per minute, which, in combination with the remotely controlled compartment doors, makes the Supa Bin the perfect unit for drive over hoppers, says CRF.

The Supa Bin and Supa Tube, designed and manufactured at West Wyalong in NSW, are the brain child of two brothers trading as Clear Ridge Fabrication Pty Ltd.

Dallas and Kaidan Boyd are both qualified welders as well as former grain farmers. Their involvement in the farming industry has ensured that the bin has evolved into something that has the capability, durability and reliability that farmers are looking for and is very farmer friendly, says CRF.

The Supa Tube has been designed for efficient delivery of grain into storage systems

The worry of tipping trucks in wet, soft paddocks is a thing of the past for any Supa Bin owner.

“If only we had one of these when we were farming,” is a regular comment made by the brothers.

The two-compartment, 6 metre-long single unit with a 60/40 product split and the four-compartment, 12 metre-long double unit with each bin split 60/40 are the most popular sizes currently being manufactured. Other sizes and configurations are available on request.

The optional Supa Tube is available in lengths up to 10 metres. Fitted at the rear of the bin, it has a working range/swing of 180 degrees and is designed to operate at full capacity anywhere in that 180 degree arc. Depending on which tubulator length is requested, the delivery height varies from 2.7 metres to 5.8 metres, with both the rotation and height remotely controlled.

The Supa Tube folds around another 90 degrees for transport, meaning permits aren’t required for road travel.

Most units are mounted on skel trailers utilising the container locks but other options are available, including mounting directly onto a truck or trailer tray, or directly onto a truck or trailer chassis.

A range of lengths are available, with the 6m-long two-compartment and the 12-long four-compartment versions being the most popular
