FAE introduces most powerful stone crushers

A new Italian-made stone crusher designed for big tractors has a bigger intake and sturdier protection chains than prior models

In the eternal quest to increase farm yields, farmers need to innovate and find creative solutions.

For broadacre farmers, having more land on which to harvest would be one solution, although naturally not the easiest to turn into reality.

Though what if land that was previously too rocky to cultivate could suddenly become useful?

Enter the FAE stone crusher.

RSH/HP stone crusher from FAE Group

The Italian manufacturer has recently introduced the RSH/HP model, capable of crushing stones up to 50cm in diameter and with a working width of 260cm and maximum operating depth of 50cm. It is a big beast and designed for use with tractors between 360 and 500 horsepower (268kW and 373kW).

Other improvements made on the RSH/HP include a larger opening to allow for more material intake and a wider counter blade to improve performance.

There is also an oil-cooling system on the central gearbox and gear transmission to help with efficiency and reliability while also reducing maintenance requirements.

Sturdier protection chains have also been added, while the RSH/HP also offers a high-resistance, anti-wear steel frame, interchangeable internal and external guards and a forged-steel tooth-holder with heat treatment.

These improvements also feature on FAE’s new RSM and RSM/HP models. Slightly smaller than the RSH/HP, these models can still crush 50cm diameter stones but have a reduced depth of 40cm and working width of 230cm.

They are compatible with tractors between 200hp and 360hp (149kW and 268kW).

The STCH stone crusher is available with three working widths

Also in the manufacturer’s arsenal are the three models in the STCH range, which are designed for tractors between 280hp and 400hp (209kW and 298kW), offer working widths of 200cm, 225cm and 250cm and have a maximum operating depth of 25cm.

Features of this range include a hydraulic counter blade that can be adjusted directly from the tractor’s cab, an oversized door and interchangeable internal Hardox protections, a new side-scraper system to limit side wear, adjustable skids, plus interchangeable protection chains.

Across FAE’s entire range of stone crushers, users have the choice of two rotors, depending on the type of application.

Both rotors come with side teeth that allow the crushing chamber to be kept clean at all times, while four different types of compatible teeth are available, depending on the rotor type and work requirements.
