FAE mulchers for all things great and small

FAE’s power take-off (PTO) mulchers can deal with everything from pruning debris to 50cm tree trunks, with nine different models in the range

With an option for all sizes and requirements, FAE’s range of PTO mulchers is designed to offer versatility on farms.

The Italian manufacturer offers a broad range of mulchers, from the PaTriziO that only requires a 70hp (52kW) tractor up to the UMH/Mega which is designed for the big jobs and needs up to 500hp (368kW) of tractor power.

The specifications of the UMH/Mega mulcher showcases the top-end capability of FAE mulchers, being designed for the most powerful tractors available, and allowing operators to work large areas in a quick and effective way.

The unit can mulch trees up to 50cm in diameter and grind at a depth of up to 25cm.

Three rows of forged and hardened interchangeable counter-blades help to provide the longest working life while providing a finer end product.

A standard hydraulic clutch transmission system protects the transmission at PTO engagement for smooth starting and in case of rotor’s overload, improving performance., while inner anti-wear clad plates absorb wear while protecting the mulcher’s frame.

An adjustable extended three-point hitch means the mulcher fits perfectly with any type of tractor.

Optional extras include multiple tooth options, hydraulically adjustable skids including special skids to go underground, and an extra ripper for the push frame.

At the other end of FAE’s range, the PaTriziO is intended for mulching pruning debris such as trees, branches and bushes up to 15cm in diameter.

Its rotor features Bite Limiter technology, with steel limiter rings limiting the depth of cut, reducing power demand and guaranteeing top performances.

The PaTriziO also has adjustable and interchangeable bolted skids, two rows of counter blades for fine and even mulching, a hydraulic hood with built-in cylinder protected by the machine body, and a heat-treated forged-steel tooth holder.

It can also be customised with optional hydraulic top link, mechanical guard frame and the choice of 540 or 1000rpm transmission.

While PaTriziO and the UMH/Mega sit at two different ends of FAE’s mulcher spectrum, there are nine different models in the range.

The others are UML/ST – FML/ST, UML/LOW, UML/DT – FML/DT, UML/S/DT, UMM/DT, UMM/S – UMM/S/HP and UMH/S – UMH/S/HP.

Each has a different shredding diameter and tractor power requirement, however, the broadness of the range means operators can find the mulcher perfectly suited to their particular job.

Further versatility is provided by a choice of fixed tooth rotor or swinging hammer rotor on some models.
