According to Fendt, the new medium range tractors carry advanced technical features such as fuel-saving SCR technology that has only been featured in its higher horsepower models until now.
The four new models – 512 Vario, 513 Vario, 514 Vario and 516 Vario features horsepower ranging from 125hp to 165hp.
Powered by a 4.04 litre four cylinder Deutz engine with four values per cylinder and common rail injection , the workhorses carries the fuel-saving SCR technology familiar from Fendt’s 700, 800 and 900 Vario ranges.
Since exhaust after-treatment with AdBlue urea solution takes place after the combustion process, and external exhaust gas recirculation is not required, the engine can be optimally tuned. Therefore, in addition to improving fuel economy, Fendt says the engine also increases power and performance of the tractors.
A Tractor Management System (TMS) is also featured in the 500 Vario range, which ensures the tractors are operating at an economic optimum at all times. Operators only need to enter the desired speed and the activated TMS controls the engine and transmission.
Also a prominent feature of the 500 Vario series is the new Fendt VisionPlus cab inherited from the 700 series.
The windscreen of the cab curves up into the roof for superior visibility, and the cab features more room and nearly six square metres of glazing for a more spacious and comfortable experience.
Additional features of the 500 Vario series are:
- Ergonomically controls with new Varioterminal and right armrest which moves along with the driver’s seat.
- Variotronic
- VarioGuide automatic steering system
- Camera function
- VarioDoc documentation system,
- ISOBUS implement control
- Up to five electrohydraulic double-acting valves at the rear plus two separate in the front
- ISOBUS connection
