Farm World field days kicked off last week at Lardner Park, showcasing the latest and best technology and machinery from the agriculture sector
With a wonderful city-meets-the-country atmosphere and only an hour from TradeFarmMachinery’s office, it would have been rude of us not to drop by.
Here are some of the highlights from Gippsland’s premier field day.
TTMI REBRANDING
The recently rebranded Case IH dealership TTMI had a huge display on show presenting the complete range of Case IH tractors, from 25hp lifestyle tractors up to the 340 Magnum CVT. Its stand also featured the Puma, Farmall and Optum tractor ranges , the latter which was released late 2017.
Formerly known as Traf Tractor and Machinery, the company has rebranded to TTMI as it expands into the Tasmanian market.
Managing director Jason Henry says Farm World was a great opportunity to announce the name change and rebranding.
“We have only been TTMI for two weeks now, and we really wanted to make it happen in conjunction with Farm World as our major field day in the Gippsland area,” he says.
“Our business is tractor and machinery and we’re no longer localised, now servicing a larger region,” he adds. “Since we’re moving into the Tasmanian market with a new location, we had to change the name away from the business in Trafalgar.
“We also have our new range of round balers and square balers, as well as some Kuhn and Horsch products and Cropland spraying equipment,” Henry adds.
Henry’s business partner Murray Tuck will move to Tasmania to operate the new branch.
HORSCH AVATAR 6.16 SD DISC SEED DRILL
John Allen from Allen Agricultural Services had his new Horsch Avatar 6.16 SD disc seed drill on display at the TTMI tent.
From Cowwarr, between Trafalgar and Maffra, Allen was also the lucky man that got hands on the very first Case IH Optum tractor in Australia, which he uses to tow his Horsch Avatar.
FENDT 1050 VARIO TRACTOR
Our old mate Tom Dickson used to say Fendt is the Rolls Royce of tractors; and the 1050 Vario wouldn’t be too far off it.
Packing 517hp under the bonnet, the 1050 Vario is one serious tractor, dwarfing everything else at the Fendt stand. If you’re read this Fendt, please give us a go on one!
JOHN DEERE 6230R TRACTOR
We had to check out the John Deere stand just before the rain hit – and like always, they provided the goods.
The 6230R is a silky tractor with 230hp under the bonnet and John Deere’s latest generation 4 command centre.
FARMTRAC 9120 DTN TRACTOR
If you haven’t seen it yet, then I’d definitely suggest you check out our review of the Polish made Farmtrac 9120 DTN.
We got hold of this little-known tractor late last year and threw it around a wet and boggy dairy farm to great success.
If we were totally honest we were surprised at how good it was, so when it popped up at Farm World I had to take a look at it myself.
Did I mention it’s about 30-grand cheaper than many tractors in its horsepower range?
