Ag Achievers’ time to shine

Young and passionate agriculturalists across Victoria are urged to enter Rural Finance’s Ag Achiever graduate program 2014.

Ag Achiever Kate Hemphill has found her niche in life – working on the land.

“I’m passionate about farming, and thrilled that the Ag Achievers program lets me work with farmers and help make their businesses more profitable and efficient,” Kate says.

Kate’s enthusiasm for agriculture started from a young age, growing up on a family dairy farm at Kyabram before completing a Bachelor of Agriculture at Melbourne University.

In 2013 she commenced the Rural Finance Ag Achiever graduate program. Over 18 months, graduates embark on a structured learning program that exposes them to different facets of Rural Finance’s business through comprehensive training, hands-on experience and one-on-one mentoring with agribusiness specialists allowing them to build important networks.

“Being part of the graduate program is a unique opportunity that I’d recommend to anyone who is passionate about the industry,” she says.

Rural Finance is now seeking applications from talented and motivated graduates like Kate who are interested in commencing their agricultural careers through the organisation’s Ag Achievers graduate program.

Rural Finance General Manager People and Marketing Janet Russell says the company believes in a bright future for agriculture and is therefore offering graduate opportunities across rural Victoria to realise the mission.

“We’re looking for graduates who are passionate about opportunities in agriculture and want to contribute to the sustainable future of this dynamic industry,” she says.

Applications for the graduate program close July 31 with successful applicants starting their placement in February 2014.

Rural Finance is offering up to four graduate positions in its intake next year.
