Manitou names new Tassie distributor

FRM Materials Handling Pty Ltd is Manitou Australia’s new Tasmanian distributor.

The Launceston-based excavation equipment business, previously a division of Toyota Materials Handling, will be responsible for Manitou’s Rough Terrain Handling range.

It will also distribute the Gehl compact equipment range of Skid Steer Loaders, Track Loaders and Articulated Loaders.

Manitou says FRM celebrated its 30 years in business last year, so introducing the Manitou and Gehl ranges is a new step in its history.

“FRM can take advantage of having the number 1 material handling reference in the world to add to its current line of products to generate further growth,” the company says in a statement.

“Manitou Australia will benefit from this partnership to reinforce its position in Tasmania, and will be able to reach new potential customers.”

With a strong branch network in Tasmania, FRM sees its partnership with Manitou as an opportunity to enter new markets.

FRM Network Sales and Business Manager David Mills says the MX and MLT range will represent key products for the company.

“The MH25-4T could become one of [our] best sellers,” Mills says.

“The Gehl range will complete the Manitou range effectively, achieving an extensive product mix.

“Along with our current range of equipment, these products now enable FRM to hone in on building, agriculture, horticulture, forestry and infrastructure industries to complete coverage of their equipment needs,” he says.

Mills adds FRM offers comprehensive parts stock and excellent state wide service capabilities, either through in house or contract facilities.
