Kymco joins forces with Mojo Motorcycles

Leading Taiwanese scooter and off-road utility vehicle brand Kymco has announced the appointment of Mojo Motorcycles as its new Australian distributor.

Mojo Motorcycles director Michael Poynton says he is excited about the partnership and says the brand is a perfect fit for the business.

“We’re a dynamic and progressive company and Kymco is going to really disrupt our established competitors by injecting a new level of activity and energy into the market,” he says.

“Kymco’s steadfast reputation for quality, great features and value for money are sure to strike a chord with Aussie riders and provide a real alternative choice.”

Since its establishment more than 50 years ago, Kymco has had a strong relationship with Japan’s Honda Corporation which according to Poynton gives the Taiwanese manufacturer a real edge over other brands on the market.

“The Japanese have been partners with Kymco since the beginning and have really driven a terrific level of quality into the manufacturing process,” he says.

“You’d go a long way to match Kymco’s build quality.”

Kymco builds over 1.2 million vehicles per year and has been producing most of its own components. The company also manufactures engines for BMW motorcycles and components for other manufacturers.

“The fact an organisation like BMW is more than comfortable to put their quality reputation in the hands of Kymco really speaks volumes,” Poynton says.

Kymco president Chun-Ping Ko is equally pleased with the new partnership.

“It’s terrific to head into 2016 with a renewed focus and determination in the Australian market,” he says.

“Australia is one of the most important opportunities for Kymco as we extend our reach as a global brand and this new partnership with Mojo Motorcycles will really focus our efforts.”

Both companies are now preparing to introduce a fresh new line-up for the Australian market. Advanced shipments of model year 2016 Kymco scooters, all-terrain and side-by-side utility vehicles are expected to arrive in the country this month.

Kymco says an announcement about the new products will be made soon. The company adds existing Kymco customers need not worry about their warranties as they will be unaffected by the announcement.

In fact, an expansion of Kymco’s dealer network as a result of the partnership means customers will enjoy better access to parts and services across the country.
