Machinery giant AGCO and its global engine brand, AGCO Power, is celebrating its 75th anniversary

AGCO Power engines are seen in more than 70 per cent of AGCO products, such as Massey Ferguson, Valtra and Fendt machines in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The AGCO Power 75th anniversary also coincides with the one-millionth engine produced.
“We are proud to celebrate this great heritage and announce that the one millionth AGCO Power engine was produced at our factory in Linnavuori, Nokia, Finland,” AGCO Corporation CEO, chairman and president Martin Richenhagen says.
“AGCO’s engine business, known today as AGCO Power, has delivered industry leading engines and power generation solutions for 75 years,” Richenhagen adds.
Over the years AGCO Power has been at the forefront of many emission technologies such as Selective Catalytic Reduction (SRC), which it was the first to launch in 2008.
AGCO Power began manufacturing engines in Linnavuori 75 years ago, the factory then became an important part of Valtra which was then acquired by AGCO in 2004.
AGCO Power manufacture three, four, six and seven-cylinder diesel engines from plants in Linnavuori (Finland), Changzhou (China), Mogi das Cruzes (Brazil) and General Rodriguez (Argentina).

AGCO says production volumes have multiplied over the past decades, with more than 100,000 engines produced annually, while complying with the latest emission regulations in the EU and the U.S.
According to worldwide engineering senior vice president Dr. Helmut Endres, AGCO Power engines are ready for stage V.
“Within the EU, new emission regulations will be phased in gradually in 2019 and 2020,” he says. “AGCO Power started its development for the stage V a number of years ago in order to be ready for the change; high-quality engines have already been tested in cooperation with our customers in the engine laboratory and in different applications,” Endres adds.
