The company is reporting a total turnover of $768 million dollars, which comes off the back of a 5.3 per cent increase in sales last year.

This caps off a huge 12 months for the German manufacturer, which  held its biennial technology expo, Amatechnica, commenced work on its new 24-hectare manufacturing facility in Bramsche, and acquired Schmotzer cultivation equipment.

Its upcoming manufacturing facility is in Phase 1, and has seen the construction of a 16,000 square metre assembly and storage complex for large machinery and an administration building.

The big moments don’t stop there. Amazone also scored a gold medal award for its WindControl system and a silver medal for the Comfort-Pack Plus control system on its UX01 Super trailed sprayer at the Agrosalon Show in Russia.

CLAAS Harvest Centre product manager (Amazone distributor) Craig Hopkins says the company’s ‘AMAZONE 4.0’ project aims to further integrate the company’s machinery, technology and service offerings.

“Our overriding goal is to improve the profitability of farmers and contractors by allowing them to work more precisely and efficiently,” he says.

“This is not precision for precision’s sake – the exact application of seed, fertilisers and crop protection products saves time and costs.

“At the same time, the precise or reduced application of fertilisers and crop protection products offers important environmental benefits.”

Amazone manufactures a wide range of cultivation, spraying and spreading equipment employs 1900 people at seven manufacturing sites throughout Germany, France, Hungary and Russia.

More than 80 per cent of the company’s production is exported.
