JCB Fastrac 6300 wins Sustainable Tractor of the Year

JCB has won a prestigious ‘Tractor of the Year’ award for its all-new Fastrac 6300 in recognition of its combination of industry-leading features, abilities and performance

JCB’s all-new Fastrac 6300 has taken out the Sustainable Tractor of the Year award presented at Agritechnica – the world’s largest agricultural machinery and technology show.

The international judging panel described the 335hp tractor as “redefining the balance between performance, efficiency and sustainability”, marking the second achievement for JCB in this award category, with its Fastrac 4220 iCON being named the winner in 2023.

The jury of machinery specialists with practical farming experience also recognised the Fastrac 6300 as “an example of sustainable innovation that combines intelligent engineering, digital connectivity and care for the soil, to deliver productivity with responsibility.”

JCB’s Smart Transmission Control system was a contributing factor to the Fastrac 6300’s sustainability credentials by managing the powertrain – the engine and transmission – in a way that ensures optimum performance with the least fuel consumption.

“Many congratulations to the JCB team involved in developing the new Fastrac 6300; it really is a masterpiece of engineering that underscores JCB’s passion for innovation and for developing productive, efficient machinery,” JCB deputy chairman George Bamford says.

One of the new features of JCB’s Fastrac 6000 Series is the central tyre inflation management system, which enables operators to quickly set optimum pressures for road travel and to minimise soil compaction in the field.

As with all Fastracs, the unique all-round suspension – when conventional tractors have a rigid rear axle – provides optimal levels of operator comfort, while the iCON digital control interface makes it easy to configure tractor and implement systems. JCB says both help make an operator’s day working on a Fastrac more productive and a lot less tiring.

The unique double-acting suspension front and rear is also key to the Fastrac’s traction in the field for heavy draft work such as ploughing and cultivating, and to its legal high speed – 66km/h – when driving on the road.
