Kaeser has launched its latest generation SM series rotary screw compressors
The new SM series rotary screw compressors are available with drive powers of 5.5 to 9kW, produce air flow rates of 0.59 to 1.62 cubic metres and are designed for pressures of 7.5 to 15 bar.
Kaeser says the SM series offers greater efficiency, with the SM13 and SM16 equipped with premium IE4 motors. The result is better compressor performance, reduced energy costs and significantly enhanced compressed air production.
The SM series models are also equipped with the new Sigma 06 screw compressor block, which feature refined Sigma Profile rotors. When combined with the IE4 motor, the compressor block can reduce the compressor’s energy consumption by up to 13 per cent.
All SM series compressors also incorporate a Sigma Control 2 unit. This internal controller can adjust compressor performance to match the compressed air consumption to further improve efficiency. The physical control unit features an easy-to-read display allowing machine information to be viewed at a glance.
Kaeser says that where multiple compressors are being used as part of a compressed air station, the Sigma Control 2 can be integrated with Kaeser’s master compressed air management controller Sigma Air Manager 4.0 (SAM 4.0). The master controller monitors and adjusts all components within a compressed air supply system to ensure no wastage is occurring.
Maintenance has been streamlined on the SM series, with all work able to completed from one side of the init. The removable housing cover provides easy access to each component. In addition, fluid levels and drive belt tension can be checked without the need to remove the cover via an inspection window.
