Kubota launches M6002 tractor series

The three tractors are Europe only at this point. UK correspondent Chris McCullough reports.

The first of three models in Kubota’s new M6002 tractor series was released this week at FIMA 2020, the International Fair of Agricultural Machinery in Zaragoza, Spain.

The M6122, M6132 and M6142 are designed with a focus on sustainability and the needs of modern farmers in livestock and mixed farming, Kubota says.

A spokeswoman for Kubota Australia says the models are a successor to Kubota’s MGX series of tractors, a mid-range option sitting below Kubota’s larger M7 Series range.

“Australia is maintaining the MGX series and currently do not have plans in the foreseeable future to introduce the M6002 series,” she says.

Kubota Holdings Europe vice president of tractor sales German Martínez says the range helps customers looking for “power, efficiency, low cost of operation, manoeuvrability, ease of use and comfort.”

“With this new tractor, farmers will benefit from great features such as the Xpress restart function, efficient new eight-speed powershift transmission and the 4.5 metre turning radius with the patented Kubota Bi-speed system,” he says.

The transmission comes with shifting progressive adjustment for high speed and heavy towing capacity, while the Xpress restart function controls the master clutch when the brake is activated, meaning the driver can stop the tractor without using the clutch pedal.

The M6002 series is equipped with a four cylinder 6108 Stage V engine offering three levels of horsepower – 121hp, 131hp and 141hp – with an additional 20hp power boost for transport operations.

The engine’s diesel particulate filter only needs cleaning every 6,000 hours – instead of 3,000, while the tractors’ 230 litre fuel tank is useful for long working days.

It also has an overdrive system to ensure low noise and fuel consumption at a top speed of 40km/h, with a heavy duty rear and front axle to allow for high speed travel with a larger payload capacity.

Models in the series have a lifting capacity of 7,000kg and a PTO Speed of 540/540E/1000/1000E as standard.

The larger tractor cabins are equipped with a Premium Grammar seat and mechanical cab suspension, as well 10 standard and six optional LED lights and a wide sunroof for optimal visibility.

It also features a new multifunction lever arm rest with shuttle, engine memory, linkage control and auto shifting control, while the side console is on the right of the driver´s seat for maximum driver comfort.
