Lemken joins the Self-Propelled party

The self-propelled sprayer market has another player with German manufacturer Lemken to launch its ‘Nova’ machine next year

Development on the Nova dates back to 2017 after the company entered a ‘strategic partnership’ with a chassis manufacturer.

2019 has been a big year for Lemken; the company earlier this year announced it had aligned with Sulky fertilizer spreaders as part of a deal which would see Lemken distribute its range of fertilizer spreaders under the Lemken badge and traditional blue colour scheme.

The upcoming Lemken Nova self-propelled sprayer is said to feature a spacious cab, a versatile chassis and automatic boom control.

Lemken confirms that the Nova will offer tank volumes of 4,800 or 7,200 litres – working widths will vary from 24 to 39 metres.

“Particular attention has been paid to the comfortable cab, which is essential for long working hours. Sound insulation reduces noise and stress so that operators can focus fully on driving,” Lemken says.

“The Nova is also available with an optional Category 4 three-stage air filter system, which creates permanent positive pressure in the cab to prevent any fumes from entering.”

Lemken also says the Nova will feature automatic climate control, Bluetooth radio and numerous storage options.

Spraying application is controlled by Lemken’s MegaSpray system and the Lemken CCI-800 and CCI-1200 terminals.

Other functions include width section and application rate controls, GPS track guidance and job management.  Chassis-wise, the Nova has telescopic axles for flexible track widths between 1.8 to 2.3 metres, while the Nova offers a ground clearance of 1.2 metres.

A hydraulic lift system that raises the chassis to a maximum of 1.60 metres is also available.

The Lemken Nova will be available from mid-2020, though it is still unclear as to whether it will be made available in Australia.
