Tractor giant Massey Ferguson has introduced three new tractors to the Australian and New Zealand markets
- 12 x 12 mechanical gearbox developed specifically for the MF 6700
- Maximum 5,200 kg lift capacity
- Top speed of 40km/h
Ranging from 75hp to 132hp, the tractors are part of Massey Ferguson’s new MF 6700 Global Series.
“The MF 6700 Series is the culmination of Massey Ferguson’s significant investment in developing the Global Series,” product manager Paul Morris says. “These completely new tractors are the first and only in the sector to be developed in the 21st century using the most modern design and manufacturing technology.
“The modern, straight-forward Global Series tractors are purpose-built for ease of use, cost-effective operation and superior reliability without compromising on comfort or performance.”
The company says the new MF 6700 Series is an ideal loader tractor capable of handling heavy loads thanks to its 2.5-metre wheelbase and 5.2-tonne linkage capacity.
“They are also perfect for livestock and mixed farming enterprises, while their ease of operation and low cost of ownership makes them well-suited to working in fleets on large enterprises, or as the second or third main tractor on big arable farms,” the company says.
The MG 6700 Series is powered by an AGCO power 4.4-litre, four-cylinder tier two mechanical injection engine.
The 6700 Series cab features a modern design with easy-to-operate controls. An advanced dashboard design provides a mix of analogue and digital displays as well as a ‘straight-forward’ performance monitor.
In terms of transmission the 6700 series provides a 12 x 12 synchronised mechanical transmission, offering six synchronised gears in two ranges.
“Direction changes are made simply using the standard Power Shuttle, providing fingertip forward/reverse shifts without using the clutch as well as a button on the gear lever for clutch-less shifting on the go,” Massey Ferguson says.
The gearbox provides seven gears at the 4-12 km/h field working range and offers a top speed of 40 km/h. The 6700 series also offers a creeper gear option.
