Baler specialist McHale has updated its V660 and V640 balers to produce higher quality bales at speed.
The units’ design improvements include: an increased rotor diameter of 40mm to improve volume of intake; new crop augers designed to direct crop evenly into the rotor; and a flexible floor that adjusts itself to allow larger lumps of grass to feed through to the chamber, as well as to assist the increased intake capacity and flow of the crop.
The cleaning auger will come standard to the V660 (15 knife, chopped) but will be an option for the V640 (non-chopped).
PFG Australia’s Ian Young says the updates will help the farmer produce denser bales.
“The benefit to the farmer is more leaf product in each bale, as a result of the higher density achieved, each bale provides an even higher quality feed in consistently shaped bales,” he says.
The balers have the ability to cope with poor rows, lumpy swaths and short dry crop, yet produce even higher density, higher quality, consistently shaped bales, PFG says.
Both the V660 and the V640 come with 2m high-volume pick-ups, which are 40mm larger in diameter to provide a perfect pick up in all conditions, it adds.
The bale chambers have three heavy-duty, reinforced endless belts which can absorb and apply high pressure to the material in the bale chamber. The V660 and V640 balers are able to make a bale from 0.7m, adjusted by 20mm increments up to 1.68m.
These new technical improvements will allow the V660 to operate at faster speeds, while maintaining its ability to pump out consistently dense, uniform bales, PFG says. This is thanks to McHale’s new density valve and ultrasonic bale shape indicator.
All new McHale V6 machines will come fitted with a new hydraulic stretch netter.
The fully automated V660 and V640 balers are designed to be easy to use. Their Expert Plus Control Consols alert the operator to issues and also allows him or her to control bale characteristics.
