New Holland has launched its extended Boomer tractor range in Europe – a more powerful and more efficient lineup which also boasts two new models.
The new Class 3 models in the Boomer range are the 47-horsepower Boomer 45 and the 57-horsepower Boomer, which offer power segments close to the 60-horsepower range to further increase the lineup’s versatility.
New Holland says the new models can perform the more demanding operations for their range, such as moving, transport and light tillage with ease.
All models in the Boomer tractor range are compliant with EU Stage V emissions guidelines.
New Holland spokesperson Edoardo Ronco says the new Boomer range offer farmers a new range of versatility in the field.
“The Boomer range is the perfect combination of ease of use, efficiency and comfort in a compact package,” Ronco says.
“It offers customers an extensive choice of models covering a wide variety of applications that require supreme versatility and manoeuvrability in a small tractor – from landscaping to golf course maintenance, from hobby and part-time farmers to homeowners, from horticulture and greenhouse cultivation to orchards and vineyards.
“The new Stage V range delivers more performance and efficiency, but also significant benefits for the operator which include a wider choice of models available with the high-comfort cab.”
Boomer tractors are now more efficient and productive. Models with hydrostatic transmission now incorporate New Holland’s EZ speed function, which generates greater efficiency and versatility by co-ordinating the forward hydrostatic pedal and engine speed.
Once activated, the engine will speed up when the hydrostatic pedal is pushed to ensure the right engine speed is achieved whenever operators need it – as long as the hand throttle is in the low position.
“The function can also be deactivated, enabling the operator to manage independently the hand throttle lever and hydrostatic pedal in PTO applications where they need to maintain a specific engine speed to in order to ensure the required PTO speed,” New Holland says.
Standard cruise control is included on all hydrostatic Boomer models while the servo hydraulic assist option, which reduces the effort required to operator the pedal, is a facet of all Class 3 cab models.
Boomer tractors include a new Auto PTO function which can be activated via a switch which automatically turns off the PTO when the three-point hitch is raised and re-engages it when lowered.

Powered by a new three cylinder turbocharged engine which features common rail direct injection technology, the Boomer tractors pack a punch, delivering a powerful performance and outstanding torque. For the Boomer 55 model – the most powerful of the range – the engine can reach 188Nm at 1600rpm and a large radiator and cooling fan help keep the machine fuel efficient.
New Holland’s after-treatment system has also been revamped and now includes a new continuously regenerating trap; featuring diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter which along with the engine, achieves Stage V compliance and enhanced fuel efficiency.
The fuel efficient components introduced to the Boomer range has extended to a new 540E PTO setting in the Class 3 models which ensures PTO speed never exceeds the rpm target by more than ten per cent to keep consumption down.
All Class 2 and 3 models include the high-comfort Boomer Suite inside the cab which offers operators improved visibility and ergonomic controls, plus a renewed dashboard including vehicle speed LCD readout.
A myriad of tyre options are available too, with the Boomer’s high versatility suitable for agriculture, industrial and wide, high flotation tyres for turf.
