New Holland's innovative Twin Rotor technology on the CR70 (145-168hp) redefines harvesting to ensure superior grain quality
With the 2024 harvest in full swing across Australia’s grain growing regions, New Holland is helping its customers to make the most of every grain.
New Holland’s Twin Rotor CR combines are renowned for delivering top grain quality with minimal losses, while the brand says it is committed to maximising uptime with strategically stocked ‘critical for function’ parts at locations around Australia for distribution to dealers as needed.
New Holland’s ANZ crop harvesting product and portfolio manager Marc Smith says everything is geared around getting more quality grain in the tank, from the design of the CR combine itself through to the brand’s parts and service availability,
“If a farmer can’t get a crop off before weather, whether it’s rain or heat, every day the crop is sitting in the ground and not in storage it is potentially diminishing in quality,” he says.
“It can be the difference between what grade the crop is sold at, which can cost farmers thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“We all know how precious time in the field is during short harvesting seasons, which is why our dealers offer field service to respond quickly to assist farmers at their location.”
Today, New Holland offers four CR combine models starting with the CR7.90 with 449 peak horsepower through to the CR10.90 with a peak rating of 700hp.
“New Holland has refined the revolutionary Twin Rotor concept for almost five decades,” Smith says.
“Right now, our CR range offers two different sizes of rotor to suit farmers’ individual needs, with the 17” standard rotors fitted to the CR7.90 models, and the heavy-duty, high capacity 22” design fitted to the CR8.90, CR9.90 and CR10.90 models.
“The Twin Rotor on the combine lets farmers tackle any type of crop; the extra separating area gives a few more options, to be heavy on the straw and light on the grain, which is good for pulse crops.
“The CRs offer exceptionally high capacity in wheat and barley. The adjustable rotor vanes inside the rotor tubes are a huge feature that farmers use quite regularly to adapt to different crops.
“It lets farmers change rotor settings without completely changing their concave setup so they can slow crop material down if they need to keep it in there longer or speed it up if they’re over threshing.”
Grain quality is further enhanced by award winning-features including the Opti-Clean and Opti-Fan systems.
The award-winning IntelliSense combine automation system, Dynamic Flow Control remotely adjustable rotor vanes, concave reset, deep cut Dynamic Feed Roll technology and the new patented Opti-Spread Plus super wide spreading residue management system, continue to ensure that the CR range is among the world’s most advanced and productive harvesters.
“New Holland has over 95 dealerships located across Australia to ensure farmers’ machines are always running in optimum condition,” Smith says.
“While our Next Gen CR 10 and 11 combines will be available in limited quantities, farmers can be assured that our current generation CR combines will be offering real value and trusted performance for 2025.”
