Case IH Dealership O’Connors has bought three of rival dealer McClintock Group’s dealerships in Central New South Wales, expanding its reach to 10 dealerships across Australia.

McClintock Group dealer principal Matt Goodwin told TradeFarmMachinery that the company was selling up in West Wyalong, Forbes and Grenfell to O’Connors, but will retain its Canowindra dealership.

The move also includes the Sincock LVM branch in Condobolin, taking the O’Connors footprint from six to 10 locations and making it the largest Case IH dealership in Australia.

The Condoblin branch will change ownership on December 1 while the other three will move across by February 1, 2019.

O’Connors chief executive Gareth Webb says the McClintock dealerships present a great opportunity for the business to expand its footprint with an organisation that had similar values.

“For over 50 years O’Connors has built a reputation for delivering exceptional support to customers, with unrivalled expertise and with parts and service departments backed by our extensive branch network,” he says.

“We’re looking forward to bringing these benefits to our new customers and ensuring uninterrupted support during the transition.”

The acquisition is the first major move for Webb as CEO, after being appointed to the role in July – the first appointment from outside the O’Connor family in the company’s 54-year history.

O’Connors currently has branches across three states, in Birchip, Warracknabeal, Horsham, Shepparton, Corowa and Bordertown.

Case IH general manager Australia and New Zealand Pete McCann says the deal will secure the Case IH name in a prominent agricultural region.

“O’Connors is a highly-respected name within the network and we know with this expansion these branches will go from strength to strength under its management,” he says.

“This move also ensures the ongoing strength and long-term viability of Case IH in Australia and New Zealand, and that’s good news for not only the brand, but all the branches that make up our extensive network.”
